Sustainable Flower Arrangements
Workshop with Katherine Ochsenfahrt

Workshop sustainable flower arrangements

Under the guidance of the florist Katherine Ochsenfahrt, each participant designed their own personal flower arrangement in a sustainable way, which they then took home with them. Fresh and dried flowers, all pesticide-free, were provided, as well as the material needed to insert them. They were asked to bring their own waterproof, opaque bowl (cereal bowl or flower pot) that was at least 8 centimeters high and 12 centimeters in diameter. Katherine Ochsenfahrt also reported on the environmental impact of growing flowers and her work on her own organic flower field in Münster.

Upcycling or: The Transformation of Things!
Lecture and Workshop with Barbara Benedix

Workshop Upcycling

Textile designer Barbara Benedix has been upcycling things for many years, focusing on products that reflect three important trends of our time: design, environmental responsibility, and individuality. In this two-part event, the theoretical basics in the lecture were followed by practical experimentation in the workshop. Here, used materials were transformed into small, ingenious new things using simple, sometimes very old techniques.

The KunstContainer in Draiflessen
Workshop with the Project Manager and Artist Christoph Seidel

The KunstContainer in Draiflessen

On three days in April, the KunstContainer employees came to us at the Draiflessen Collection and worked in the studio in the exhibition space from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We cordially invited our visitors to become artistically active together with the group. The results of this workshop were then presented in the exhibition space.

Resource-Saving—Unpackaged—Nutritious: Using the Power of Wild Herbs in Everyday Life!
Workshop with Anke Höller

Workshop with Anke Höller

Herbal expert Anke Höller took our visitors on a journey into the world of wild herbs.
Ancient knowledge of nature and herbs used to be carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation. Unfortunately, this knowledge has largely been lost today, but it can be reactivated. Nature's treasures are often right on our doorstep. Unpackaged, without production and transportation costs, they are just waiting to be rediscovered.
In this workshop, participants were introduced to various wild herbs. In the practical part of the event, the participants made their own herbal salt and herbal vinegar.

Repair Café
Workshop with Anja Leshoff

In this workshop, clothing or other textiles such as bags, old favorites, or items that are no longer worn could be repaired under expert guidance. Participants brought along an item of clothing or a textile in order to give it a second life. They could also bring yarn, fabric, or other materials that they would like to use.
