The name “Draiflessen Collection” already makes it clear: our company has high-quality collections that are constantly expanding. This includes a selective art collection, for example, the Liberna Collection, which includes books and prints from the fifteenth to seventeenth centuries, or the Ariadne’s Naaikussen Collection, which comprises historical needlework and sewing utensils from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. However, we also collect works of fine and applied art, objects that we purchase specifically to supplement our collection or that have been donated to us. These works cover a period from the late Middle Ages to the present day.

In addition to works of art, we collect objects and documents relating to the Brenninkmeijer family and their entrepreneurial activities. This collection includes our fashion collection, advertisements and films, architecture and business inventory, as well as commercial photography. These objects provide detailed insights into the history of C&A starting with its founding in Sneek, Netherlands, in 1841 to the more recent past. This is an ongoing process: the handover of further business activities, which have been coordinated by COFRA AG since 2001, is intended to continuously expand the collection in the future.
