Hand-colored prints, Journal des Dames et des Modes, 1912–14
Donation; the so-called “fashion plates” are hand-colored etchings using the pochoir technique on laid paper. They were published between June 1, 1912, and August 1, 1914, in the Paris fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes. At the time, the magazine was only published in small editions for connoisseurs and lovers of rare editions. There are comparable sheets in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, among others.
