Albrecht Dürer, Mary on the Grass, 1503, copperplate engraving
2028 will be a Dürer year. In preparation for a trilogy of exhibitions, we were able to purchase this rare copperplate engraving from the art dealer Helmut H. Rumbler, which Iris Ellers and Guido Scholten had set their sights on at TEFAF in March.

A total of 65 family-owned objects were brought to our depot for temporary storage in 2018. Among them were several paintings with family portraits and Christian motifs. In 2024, we were finally able to obtain a donation from them.

Michiel Zuidervaart, Longerje nei it Hjoed yn Snits, screen print, Bredevoort, 2008
The collection consists of six motifs that the artist created as a commissioned work for COFRA Holding. The motifs show the artist's journey through Sneek, following in the footsteps of the founders Clemens and August and the first C&A store. The series is edited to 15 for the large formats and 40 for the smaller formats, which show details. We received six small and two large framed silkscreens from the series.

Donation of Mr. and Mrs. Hötte
Raimund Hötte was a long-standing C&A employee. In 2024, he and his wife bequeathed the morning coat worn for their wedding on June 18, 1966, as well as the bride's wedding dress to the Draiflessen Collection. A photograph of the bridal couple, also now in our collection, conveys fashion and zeitgeist in a particularly beautiful way.
